Winter Waste Collection Tips

• Place carts one meter (arm's length) apart from each other or any object (Except snow banks).

• Please place cart facing foward.  Do not place carts behind objects, on top of, or in, snow banks.
  

• To avoid organics from freezing to the cart:
  
  • line the organics cart with cardboard
  • use compostable bags
  • wrap wet material in newspaper

• Check the schedule.  Organics will be collected once every two weeks on the same day as your waste carts until May.  Schedule is available from www.stalbert.ca/refuse-collection-schedule.

• Place blue bags in an easily accessible area.
  

• Do not place blue bags on top of large snow piles.

During scheduled snow removal please place your carts at the end of your driveway within 30cm or 1ft from the road.

• Christmas trees will be collected during your area's waste collection day from January 9 to January 20, 2012.
  

•  Please place your trees in an accessible area.

• There will be no waste collection on December 26 or 27.  Areas scheduled for Mondays (green zone), Tuesdays (orange zone) and Wednesdays (blue zone) will all be collected on
  Wednesday, December 28th.  Regular collection will resume the following week.
