Water Quality Monitoring
The City of St. Albert tests the water quality of the Sturgeon River, its stormwater outfalls and stormwater ponds quarterly. Unlike the sanitary sewer system, water entering the storm sewers is not treated and drains directly into the Sturgeon River or storm water ponds. Contaminated water can kill fish and othe wildlife, as well as pollute areas next to these bodies of water. For more information on the monitoring of our river and stormwater areas, please contact the Office of Environment at 780-459-1746.
Rain Barrel Program
The City of St. Albert's Rain Barrel Program is a great way for residents to participate in water conservation. Please click here for Rain Barrel Program information.
Yellow Fish Road
The Yellow Fish Road program is a proactive environmental initiative that educates the public about the storm sewer system and encourages people not to dump oil, pesticides, turpentine, paint and any other unwanted substances containing chemicals into the storm sewer system. For more information on the Yellow Fish Road program, please contact the Office of Environment at 780-459-1735.
