The Opportunity:

As the Utilities Project Coordinator you will be responsible for the rehabilitation and sustainability of the City of St. Albert’s water, wastewater and storm utility systems. Reporting to the Manager of Utilities, this position will provide project management, leadership and direction to stakeholders both internal and external of the City.  The Utilities Project Coordinator is also responsible to perform in-depth project cost and risk analysis that will be used to prepare future business cases and budget development.  The incumbent will oversee a construction crew, CCTV operations and related programs as well as provide technical support to project teams to plan, develop, monitor and operate effective and efficient utility services.

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education in a related field such as civil engineering or in an underground utilities linked field.
  • Candidates should have experience in project management, administration of capital projects, and coordinating contractual and operational activities in the W&WW field.  
  • A level 3 or higher Alberta Environment Operator certification in WD and WWC and/ or Level 2 Public Works Supervisor certification will be considered assets.
  • The successful candidate should have strong computer skills including MS Office, GIS, SCADA and an Operations Management software (Hansen).
  • Excellent Supervisory skills with a thorough working knowledge of all applicable codes, acts and legislation both from an OH&S and Environmental perspective.

Hours of Work:

72 hours bi-weekly (Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 with a regular day off every two weeks).

Salary Range:

$72,324 - $87,993 per annum. In addition the City of St. Albert offers a comprehensive benefit package.
