Social Master Plan

What is the Social Master Plan?
The Social Master Plan will help the City of St. Albert and the community respond to social issues. The Plan is really all about people and it truly impacts all residents in one way or another. It's not just about troubled families. It's about everyone and how we live, interact with and support one another.

The Social Master Plan will define many elements including:

  • the community's vision, core beliefs, guiding principles, and desired outcomes;
  • the relationships, key networks and infrastructure in the community which enhances residents' quality of life;
  • the attributes and resources needed to contribute to one's own well-being and that of the community;
  • how to assess the social well-being of St. Albert as well as prioritize and plan for current and emerging social needs;
  • the roles of council, administration, community partners and residents in providing services.
How does the Social Master Plan affect you?
The Social Master Plan is about people and affects all residents in one way or another. It's about how we live, interact with and support one another.

The Plan needs to reflect the core values and principles of the community and create the vision of the community. In simple terms, it is creating the conditions for the social well being of the community and its residents.
