Smart Growth Hybrid

Northwest Lands: Essential Elements for Growth

Update: April 26, 2010 — Council rejected the Smart Growth Hybrid and made a number of motions regarding a "St. Albert Model for Future Growth". A report is being prepared outlining the implications of those motions. This will be going to Council on July 12, 2010.

On January 4, 2010 Council directed the City Administration to develop a “hybrid” of the Smart Growth proposal that would be more suited to St. Albert.  Seven Essential Elements for growth have been identified to provide the framework for such a hybrid.   These were received by Council on March 1, 2010 and are now being referred out to the public and stakeholders for feedback.
