Please avoid recycling items not listed below as unwanted materials
increase costs and put the health of workers at risk.
Items Accepted at the Recycling Depot
Effective October 1, 2011, the following Household Hazardous Waste is accepted:
- Paint, paint cans and aerosols
- Most types of household cleaners and chemicals
- Used oil, oil filters and oil containers
- Scrap metal (small amounts)

Electronics
- TVs, computer monitors, CPUs and servers (including keyboards, mouses, cables, and speakers), printers, laptops, notebook computers
Paper
- Newsprint, flyers, clean waste paper, magazines and catalogues, mixed paper
There are separate bins for different types of paper. Before you go to
the depot, be sure to separate paper into three types: newspaper,
mixed paper (flattened cereal and food boxes, etc.) and glossy paper
(including magazines and catalogues).
Phone books
A bin is available for recycling phone books year-round.
Corrugated cardboard
Be sure to include flattened, clean, dry cardboard only. Pizza delivery boxes, for example, are not acceptable.
Metal cans
Please remove the lids, labels and wash out cans before placing them in
the recycle bin. Cans from items such as soup, juice, fruits or
vegetables are accepted, as are clean aluminum pie plates or aluminum
fast food containers. Glass jars
Be sure to rinse jars and remove labels and lids. Brown, green or clear glass is acceptable for recycling.
Items NOT Accepted at the Recycling Depot
Unfortunately, some items are not recyclable or there is currently no
market for them. At this time, the Recycling Depot DOES NOT ACCEPT THE
FOLLOWING:
Electronics
- Microwaves
- DVD and VHS players
- Radios
- Cameras
- Cell phones
- Lamps
- Vacuum cleaners
- Telephones
- Stereo and/or stereo speakers
Plastics

Any plastic containers

Plastic film bags (e.g. grocery bags)

Plastic packing material ("bubble pack") or Styrofoam plastic

Plastic toys, dishes, cutlery, cups
