University of Alberta

The University of Alberta has 30,000 full-time undergraduate and graduate students; a further 30,000 adults enroll in courses run by the Faculty of Extension, and a further 16,000 in part-time degree-credit courses.

Athabasca University

Athabasca University is one of the world's leading open universities specializing in distance learning. Athabasca University currently offers 12 degree programs, 2 diploma programs, and 8 certificate programs. Athabasca University's MBA program grabbed headlines across the country as increasing numbers of adult learners discovered its completely electronic teaching method using Lotus Notes as its delivery program. This program has since become one of Canada's most successful Executive MBA programs. The MBA program is located in St. Albert.

Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT)

The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) is Canada's premier institute of technology-based career training, serving more than 45,000 full-time and part-time students annually. NAIT offers courses in applied building sciences, business, health sciences, hospitality, information management and communications, electrical/electronics technology, mechanical/manufacturing technology, and resources and environmental management. Additionally, NAIT offers training in 35 different apprenticeship trades. NAIT is an authorized training centre for many specialized computer applications and offers customized training and upgrading programs to business and industry.

NorQuest College

NorQuest College is the Edmonton region’s community college and the largest community college in Alberta. NorQuest serves more than 9,000 learners each year at campuses in Edmonton, Wetaskiwin and Stony Plain, at seven Campus Alberta sites from Camrose to Jasper and Drayton Valley to Whitecourt, and online in over 200 Canadian communities. NorQuest offers diplomas and certificates in health, business and community service career programs, as well as industry specific workplace and intercultural training.
