- Bus stops are clearly marked with 'Bus Stop' signs which indicate the routes that stop there.
- If you choose to Park & Ride at the Village Transit Station (VTS), please comply with the parking signage. There is no parking for Transit patrons at St. Albert Centre Exchange (SACE).
Please ensure that you allow plenty of time to board your bus safely.
-
We suggest being out at your Bus Stop five minutes early or at the time that the bus is scheduled to leave the preceding timing point (whichever is earlier).
-
For safety reasons, passengers will not be picked up after doors are closed and the bus leaves the curb at VTS and SACE.
-
Stand so you are visible to the bus driver. If you're waiting in a bus shelter, step outside well before the bus approaches. Be visible so that the driver has time to prepare to stop for you.
-
If more than one bus uses your stop, including school buses, indicate to the driver that you need that bus. Usually a small wave is all that is necessary. If it's not your bus, please help the driver by stepping back from the stop or shaking your head.
-
Wait for the bus to stop completely, and then step to the curb. Please allow passengers to leave the bus before you board.
-
Most of our buses can 'kneel' to curb level for easier access. If you require this feature, please advise the driver.
-
All StAT buses are wheelchair accessible.
-
You have several convenient ways to pay for your bus ride. If you're paying cash, please have the correct fare ready, as drivers do not carry change. Alternatively, you can buy a pass or book of tickets in advance. As you board, put your ticket or cash fare in the farebox or show the driver your pass. When boarding, please ask the driver for a transfer if you need to use another bus to get to your destination.
