Dial-a-bus
|
Dial-a-bus is
a cost-effective way to provide "as needed" transit service in St.
Albert when ridership is low. Dial-a-bus
is available upon request to travel to bus stop locations where riders wish to
board or be dropped off. Dial-a-bus
operates along existing bus routes and "collector" roadways. They provide local service and will always
connect to the commuter buses going into Edmonton.
For passengers
coming into St. Albert from Edmonton, buses will be at the Village
Transit Station waiting to take you to your destination. Board the appropriate bus and tell the driver
your intended destination. The driver
will take passengers along the most direct route. For your convenience and safety, you are
permitted to get off the bus at any location along Transit routes, so long as
it is safe for the driver to stop. The
bus will not travel on local residential crescents.
If you are coming in at 7:10 p.m. on a weekday, there will only be an East and West bus. The three
Dial-a-buses will depart VTS at 7:45, 8:45, 9:45 and 10:45 p.m.
On weekday evenings at 11:45 p.m. and 12:45 a.m., there is one A15 bus available tat VTS to take passengers to any desitinations in St. Albert (drop-off only).
For a pick up within St. Albert, call your appropriate bus when you need to travel. The driver will advise you of the time he/she will pick you up at your nearest bus stop. Please note that the drivers will only have their phones turned on for a 10-minute window from 35 – 45 minutes after the hour.
