HOW WE GOT HERE

Background

In October 2010, Council approved Administration undertaking a two-part study related to Industrial Lands and the Future Study Areas. The two parts are as follows:

  • PART I: Future Industrial Land Requirements Study
Undertaken by a consultant, hired and overseen by Business & Tourism Development, this report essentially identified how much industrial land the City requires. The report suggested that 360 – 580 gross hectares of land are required. It was completed in June 2010 and received by Council. The report is available for review on our website.

  • PART II: Future Study Areas Report: Potential Industrial Lands
Undertaken by Planning & Development, this report provides recommendations as to where additional industrial land could be located within the City.
