Councillor Wes Brodhead



Wes Brodhead's entire professional career has been in municipal operations. Starting with Edmonton Transit in 1977, he was promoted through the ranks to his current position of Director of Bus Operations. Through this position, he is responsible for over 1600 drivers, operating from four separate divisions. His fiscal responsibilities exceed $100 million.

Professionally, he currently serves as the Chair of the Prairie Provinces and Territories Chapter of the Canadian Urban Transit Association, an organization that is the voice for the public transit industry in Canada. From his work with this organization, he has led local, regional and national projects that have introduced “best practice” business processes into the transit industry.

Wes has always been an active community member. He has coached soccer and basketball, has been a scout leader, a Sunday school teacher and a church board member. He has also served six years on the St. Albert Library Board and is currently serving on the St. Albert Environmental Advisory Board.

Wes has also served two terms as the President of the City of Edmonton Management Association, and is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Rivercity Credit Union.

Wes and his wife Marilyn have been married for 30 years. They moved to St. Albert in 1980 and committed to raising their family in this community. They have two children.
