Councillor Len Bracko



Len Bracko has served as a St. Albert City Councillor from 1989-1992 and 2001-2010. He has also served as St. Albert's MLA from 1993-1997. In addition, Len had a long teaching career with the Greater St. Albert School Division from 1967-2001.
 
Len has been involved in St. Albert for the last 43 years and is currently serving on the following municipal committees: 2011 Alberta 55 Plus Winter Games, Aboriginal Day, Awards Leadership, Events Hosting Strategy Steering Committee, Working Agreement for the St. Albert Collaboration Agreement and the Alberta Capital Region Wastewater Commission Board of Directors.

Len is a Director of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, serving on the Standing Committee on Municipal Finance and Intergovernmental Relations.  He is on the Prairie and Territorial Regional Committee, the Standing Committee on Conference Planning, the Rural Forum, the Northern and Remote Forum, and is the vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on International Relations.

Len's international experience includes Habitat for Humanity builds in Nicaragua and Nepal, and a St. Albert - Dodoma, Tanzania municipal partnership.

His volunteer activities in St. Albert include: the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign, Knights of Columbus, Holy Family Parish, Star of the North Retreat Centre, Chateau Mission Court and the Lac St. Anne Aboriginal Pilgrimage. He is also a volunteer driver for the Senior's Centre and the St. Albert Food Bank.

Len and his wife Barb have been married for 31 years. Together, they enjoy serving the community and like to hike, cycle and travel.
