For many people, summer yard maintenance causes more waste. St. Albert's Compost Depot ensures residents can dispose of this supplementary waste in an environmentally-friendly manner.

St. Albert Compost Depot
 
Located three kilometres west of St. Albert Road on Villeneuve Road.

Hours of Operation:
7:30 a.m. - 10 p.m., seven days a week
Material NOT Accepted at the Compost Depot
  • Vegetable and fruit scraps
  • Fish, poultry, bones
  • Fats, greases or oils
  • Coffee grounds, tea bags, bread scraps
  • Dairy products
  • Animal feces
  • Treated or preserved wood
  • Ashes, charcoal
  • Non-organic materials (such as paper, plastic, metal or glass)

Compost Giveaways
The City of St. Albert collects about 4,000 tonnes of compostable material from the Compost Depot each year. In the spring and fall every year, the City provides the finished compost material available for free to residents. The City's finished compost material is of the highest grade and suitable for all uses. Look for information about upcoming Compost Giveaways or check your Pay-As-You-Throw calendar for information.
