Peacefully situated in the northeast corner of St. Albert, on Poundmaker Road, the St. Albert Cemetery is beautifully landscaped with manicured lawns and stone pathways. Spruce, evergreen and willow trees surround the cemetery, lending shade to these special grounds, and giving dignity to this final resting place. Dating back to the 1940s, the cemetery served as a burial ground for native people who had passed away while at the Charles Camsell Hospital. In 1979, the City of St. Albert assumed care from the Alberta Government and carefully restored the six-acre site. All monies received from Cemetery Services are utilized in the administration, development, extension and perpetual care of the cemetery. Family, visitors and friends are always welcome at the St. Albert
Cemetery. The cemetery is open for visitation during daylight hours, but
the main gate is locked to vehicles. If you would like to access the cemetery by vehicle, Public Works Department at 780-459-1557
