Cemetery Services
Traditional or Ash Burial
When selecting a traditional burial space, you can choose regular or double depth plots. Plots are available in the sunshine or near trees. Ash plots have space for up to four urns.Field of Honour
A portion of the cemetery has been dedicated as a Field of Honour for the burial of any veteran who has seen active service and a spouse or one next of kin.Columbarium
The cemetery has two columbaria. Each niche in a columbarium has capacity for two ash urns.
Memorial Wall
An eight foot by four foot granite wall on the back of the columbarium allows people to purchase one square foot of the wall to have a monument company engrave names of their loved ones whose ashes are in the ash scattering garden or who have been interred somewhere else.Markers
All grave sites are required to use markers made of enduring granite, marble or bronze, which are mounted on a cement base even with the ground. Vases are permitted when embedded in the foundation and the vase is recessed flush with the ground. Please note, that the cemetery maintains consistent monument work. Structures of any kind, other than approved markers, are not permitted within the cemetery.
Pre-planning
Pre-planning saves families from having to make decisions during a difficult time. If you wish to be involved in how you are remembered, planning ahead gives you the opportunity. Our cemetery officers will assist you in making choices that suit your needs.Reserve a Plot
Our city's pride in its public cemetery is a commitment to tradition and perpetual care. When a grave site must be prepared, a minimum of two working days notice is required in the summer and three working days is required in the winter. For an appointment with a cemetery officer, please contact the City of St. Albert at 780-459-1500.
