Resident Business (Commercial or Industrial)
If you reside in St. Albert and carry on or operate a business, or operate a business from a premises in St. Albert for which you own or rent, you are required to complete a
Business Licence Application.
The City of St. Albert has eliminated Business Tax and initiated a Business Licence System. Business licences are issued on an annual basis (calendar year).
All Resident Business Licence holders are entitled to free listings in the City of St. Albert Business Directory. Business licences also provide the City with emergency contact information that may be used by civic authorities in case of an emergency.
Home-based Business
A Home-based Business must complete a
Business Licence Application and a
Home Occupation Questionnaire.
Resident Fees
- The licence fee for a Resident/Home-based Business Licence is $110.00 in 2010. GST exempt
- Resident/Home-based Business Licences purchased after September 1 are $50.00 and are current until December 31 of that year.

Charitable or Non-Profit Organizations
A charitable or non-profit organization wishing to be exempted from the requirements of a licence fee can apply to the Licence Inspector for such exemption.
Charitable or Non-profit Organizations need to complete a
Business Licence Application and
Not For Profit Exemption form.
