Beaver Management Guidelines
The City of St. Albert is nestled alongside the Sturgeon River - a natural habitat for the beaver.
Beaver Management Guidelines for the City of St. Albert have been
finalized and endorsed by the City's Environmental Advisory Committee
(EAC).
The document started with a public workshop held on September 21,
2006 to discuss the management of beavers within the City of St.
Albert. Attendees decided a working group consisting of City employees
and a member of the Environmental Advisory Committee would draft a set
of guidelines for public input. Public comments were gathered and
considered in the creation of this documet. The working group in
collaboration with the EAC will review the guidelines after a one-year
period to determine if the document requires modification.
